Hi, I am probably writing nobody since I have abandoned DA, but I just want to say that I am feeling more positive about my creative endeavors!!! After graduating with a degree in art a year ago, I wanted a divorce from art, and so it was. And I finally sketched a fake tattoo the other week, and had such a great feeling from it that I have started painting again!!! Hey all, I am never on here anymore, but I really could use some know-how help. I am trying to search for DIY encaustics. Is it really hard to make your own purified and bleached beeswax? It is like $20 for a one pound bag! So ridiculous! I have just been using those little tea candles since they are dirt cheap. The kitchen looks like I am having a seance when I burn these little candles down so I can get enough to cover my surface.I am tempted to melt down crayons. Both of those methods are probably a little less than archival-friendly, lol. Can someone help me? I am really interested in melted wax mediums right now. And on that line, I have
